The breathtaking Ostheimer hand-carved wooden nativity set is sure to become a family heirloom, treasured by both children and adults. Finally a crêche set that children (ages 4 and up) can actually touch and play with (for supervised play), using their imaginations to bring the nativity scene alive. A truly magical wooden nativity set! The Ostheimer handcarved wooden Nativity set includes the large stable (slotted fit-together construction allows the stable to be stored flat), Mary, Joseph, crêche, baby Jesus, 3 shepherds, lying donkey and lying coq. The stable includes the wooden shooting star that can be placed over the stable entrance. (For extended play the stable can also be used for imaginative stable/barn play with wooden animals throughout the year.) The entire set comes boxed in a wooden box with a sliding top, allowing the entire set to be neatly and safety stored each year. The Ostheimer figures are carved, handshaped and beautifully smoothed, and hand-colored using non-toxic, plant-based watercolors. Conforms to European safety standard EN71. Made in Germany.
