Kathe Kruse Wool Felt Horses These Kathe Kruse wool felt horses and foals are scaled to be a perfect fit for Kathe Kruse dollhouse dolls. They are among our favorite toys! One year Santa brought to our children a whole herd of Kathe Kruse horses and ponies, and a coral, and a cowboy and cowgirl and some pioneer children dollhouse dolls, all handmade by the Kathe Kruse Doll Co. Sheer joy! Both our little girls and our little boys LOVE to play with the Kathe Kruse felt horses and dollhouse figures. They have been affectionately played with, year in and year out. We confess that we like to play with them just as much as children do; it is so much fun to create a pretty scene for your child to discover the next time they enter the room. We like to pose the horses and dollhouse dolls in an engaging setting, almost like a visual story that is unfolding ... waiting for the child's imagination to come across the scene and make it come alive! (Now that's a fun way to tidy up the toys; but it really only works and captures a child's attention with really special, warm toys like the Kathe Kruse dollhouse dolls and horses and similar natural toys.) The Kathe Kruse felt horses are amazingly appealing both to children and adults. They have such charming character in their hand-embroidered faces and their form, and they are made of warm, natural materials (wool felt, wool mane, hand-embroidered face, little wooden hooves). The Kathe Kruse felt horses have an inner wire armature, wrapped with sheep's wool. The inner wire armature allows the horses to be posed in very realistic horse poses. (Contrast the pose-ability and warmth of these little all-natural-material, handmade felt horses, with the rigid plastic of a Breyer horse, for example. Breyer horses are fun, but they are so rigid and fixed.) The Kathe Kruse soft felt horses feel lovely in a child's hand and they are so much fun to pose! They can be balanced standing, rearing up, or trotting, or resting. Thanks to their adorable little wooden hooves, they make a pleasing clickety-click galloping sound as they gallop across a hard wood floor, carrying a Kathe Kruse dollhouse doll on their backs, or else just galloping freely together as a herd.
