find the perfect doll clothing outfits.
At
Blueberry Forest we carry the entire
Kathe
Kruse Prêt-à-Porter doll clothing collection as well as all of the
various Kathe Kruse doll
clothing collections made especially to fit each of the types of
Kathe Kruse play dolls, baby dolls, and soft fabric Waldorf dolls.
The Kathe Kruse
Prêt-à-Porter
doll clothing is made in two size ranges:
(1) sizes for Baby Dolls
of varying heights
The Kathe Kruse
Prêt-à-Porter Baby Doll clothing is proportioned differently than
the Kathe Kruse Prêt-à-Porter Play Doll clothing, in order to
accommodate for the roly-poly nature of a baby doll's proportions.
So, for example, a Baby Doll outfit designed to fit a 13-15 in. baby
doll would be too large for a 13 in. slender play doll.
and
(2) sizes for Play Dolls / big girl /best friend-type dolls of
varying heights.
These Kathe Kruse
Prêt-à-Porter play doll clothes are for dolls that are meant to
look like big kids -- a child's best friend, rather than roly-poly baby
dolls.) The Kathe Kruse Play Doll clothing collection is available in 13.5-15
in. sizes and 15-17 in. sizes; we also have some Play Doll clothing
selections in a smaller size to fit dolls smaller than 13 in.
Most Kathe Kruse
13.5 - 15 in. size Prêt-à-Porter play doll clothes generally fit the
Kathe Kruse Toni dolls.
Most he Kathe
Kruse 15-17 in. size Prêt-à-Porter play doll clothes normally fits
the Kathe Kruse Sophie dolls and the Kathe Kruse Elea dolls.
In addition to the
Kathe Kruse Prêt-à-Porter doll clothing collection, we also have all
of the additional collections of Kathe Kruse doll clothing made
especially for all of the different types of Kathe Kruse play dolls (Sophie
Dolls, Toni Dolls,
Elea
Dolls - these three doll collections are the beautiful German-made
"European Girl Doll" alternatives to the (American-girl-made-in-China-dolls). . .
Difference between
Kathe Kruse Sophie dolls & Kathe Kruse Elea dolls?
Kathe Kruse
Sophie dolls & Kathe Kruse Elea dolls both wear the identical
size clothing and doll shoes.
Differences:
Their faces are sculpted differently: Sophie and Elea were
sculpted from different models. Otherwise the two types
of dolls are identical in size and composition. The
Kathe Kruse Sophie dolls and the Kathe Kruse Elea dolls both are
16.5 in. tall and wear the identical size clothing. Their
bodies, arms and legs are identical (both have soft, huggable
torsos; both have vinyl arms, legs & heads that SWIVEL
realistically up and down, left & right - a really nice feature
that allows the Kathe Kruse Sophie and the Kathe Kruse Elea doll
heads and arms/legs to be realistically posed.
Difference between
Kathe Kruse Toni dolls
versus
Kathe Kruse Sophie & Kathe Kruse Elea dolls?
The faces of
the Kathe Kruse Toni dolls, the Sophie dolls, and the Elea dolls
are sculpted differently from different models. The three
doll collections have their own unique faces, with different eye
colors and hair colors available in each of these three play
doll collections (Toni, Sophie, and Elea).
The Kathe
Kruse Toni dolls are slightly shorter in stature (at 15 in.
tall), and the Kathe Kruse Toni bodies are completely made of
high-quality vinyl. Accordingly, the Kathe Kruse Toni doll
clothes usually are too small for the Kathe Kruse Sophie and
Elea dolls.
In contrast,
the Kathe Kruse Sophie and Elea dolls both are taller in stature
than the Kathe Kruse Toni dolls: Sophie and Elea dolls
measure 16.5 in. tall. (Some of the Kathe Kruse Sophie and
Elea doll clothing can fit the Kathe Kruse Toni dolls reasonably
well, if you don't mind the clothes being slightly larger.
However, Kathe Kruse Toni shoes DO NOT FIT Kathe Kruse Sophie &
Elea dolls, and vice versa.
While the Toni
dolls are all-vinyl (including their torso), the Kathe Kruse
Sophie & Kathe Kruse Elea dolls both have soft torsos.
This is another reason why the Toni doll clothing generally is
too small for the Kathe Kruse Sophie & Elea dolls -- their
tummies have padding whereas Toni dolls don't have soft
torsos/torso padding. The Sophie & Elea clothing can fit
the Toni dolls, if you don't mind a more generous fit. But
for a perfect fit for the Toni dolls, stick with the Toni doll
clothing.
We also have doll
clothing to fit the Kathe Kruse Lolle
dolls, doll clothing for Lolle's baby sister Kikou -- the Kikou dolls,
Child of
Fortune dolls, and many more), Kathe Kruse baby dolls (for example
the 18 in. "real baby" size
Bambina
baby dolls, 13 in.
Mini-Bambina
dolls, 12 in. Bath Baby dolls, 13 in.
My
Fortune baby dolls, and lots more), and the
Kathe
Kruse Waldorf dolls (10.5
in. Mini It's Me Dolls, 13 in.
Flippippi
Dolls, 15 in.
Waldorf Dolls, 8 in., 12 in., and 18 in. baby dolls, and many
more.
Does Kathe Kruse make
doll clothing for the Kathe Kruse 15 in. Waldorf dolls?
Kathe Kruse does not make a
separate collection of doll clothing for the
15 in. Waldorf dolls,
because all of the Kathe Kruse Sophie Doll Clothing, Kathe Kruse Toni
Doll Clothing, and Kathe Kruse Elea doll clothing outfits fit the 15 in.
Waldorf dolls. There are also many Prêt-à-Porter doll
clothing outfits that fit the 15 in. Waldorf dolls.
Kathe Kruse Quality -
Made in Germany
for over 125 years!
The original WAHM . .
.
Just imagine: the
original work-at-home-mother, Kathe Kruse, 125 years ago, working and
sewing into the wee hours of the nights long after her children had gone
to sleep. . . Fast forward 125 years: her company continues
to make the classic dolls that are known world-wide as among the most
beautiful dolls in the world.
Kathe Kruse has been
making beautiful dolls and doll clothing for over 125 years and the
expertise, skill, and love for children that goes into every design is
part of the Kathe Kruse hallmark. The Kathe Kruse doll company is
a major European company, with worldwide sales and doll collector fans.
Most impressive is that the company was founded by a mother, working at
night to sew and create a lovely play doll for her own child.
The dolls of that era
were pretty, frilly, fussy dolls, made of breakable porcelain, and just
not conducive to being a real baby doll for a child to hug, and love,
and snuggle to sleep with, and really play with. After Kathe Kruse
had a new baby, her first child asked her to make a baby of her own, so
that she could care for her own baby, just as her mother cared for her
new baby sister.
With the help of Max
Kruse, Kathe Kruse's husband and renowned sculptor in his own right,
Kathe Kruse developed the original Kathe Kruse dolls for her own
children. Everyone who saw the dolls loved them and asked Kathe
Kruse if she could make one for them. Through word of mouth demand
increased and the dolls even became famous overseas, to the point where
Kathe Kruse received her first truly large order, from a major American
toy store - to be shipped overseas in time for Christmas!
The rest is history:
over the course of the past 125 years Kathe Kruse and Max Kruse, and
subsequently several of their children continued the business, making
some of the most beautiful and well-loved dolls in the world. It
is a wonderful testament to the beauty that one woman has been able to
create in the world, for the benefit of countless children, and
generations of children, worldwide. Truly an inspiration for
everyone; but especially for young girls and women. |
