About Evi Dolls

Evi Dolls are made by the Atelier de Bonecas Evi in Brazil. Evi Dolls began its work in 1988 as a small business whose objective was to teach handicrafts to single mothers from poor families: while making educational dolls in their own homes, these mothers could go on with their housework and take care of their children and help to provide for their families by making beautiful Evi Dolls at home. The purpose of the company was to develop a worthy and creative work resulting in beautiful Evi Dolls, while allowing the mothers to stay at home with their children.

The doll makers are paid fair wages, and the Atelier also helps the women in other ways to secure stability for their families. Many of the women have worked there since the inception of the Atelier de Bonecas, and it has made a real difference for them and their families.

The purchase of Evi Dolls helps to directly support these mothers, allowing them to continue to stay at home and raise their children while helping to support their families.
