Children and adults will love to make their own great calypso music!  These high quality calypso drums are made by professional pan makers on the island of Trinidad.  This is a smaller version (authentic 1/3 size) of the pan steel drums that are so famous in Trinidad and Tobago.  The steel drums originated around the 1930's and were made from used 55-gallon oil drums; the steel drums are now famous for their distinctive, festive music evoking island Carnival celebrations!

The all-steel drum is hand-hammered to create the basin contours of the drum with raised areas that form the notes.  The drum is mounted to the wood drum stand, allowing the richness of the notes to reverberate.  This diatonic drum is strobe-tuned to C-major, and includes a songbook with songs including "When the Saints Go Marching In" and "Oh! Susannah".  Great musical fun for kids (and adults won't be able to resist trying their musical hand as well!)

This authentic Calypso all-steel drum includes the drum stand, 2 rubber-tipped mallets and songbook, and comes packaged in a gift box.  Made in Trinidad.
